Wildlands Conservancy - Get Out! for Wellness- Mink Trail, Nockamixon State Park
We’re exploring yet another trail at 5,286-acre Nockamixon State Park: Mink Trail. We won’t see any mink, but we will have good views of the lake on this 3-mile loop hike. From the parking lot we go on a single woods trail for about a mile. Then we’ll be on a grassy double-track trail along several feeder plots for wildlife. This hike is appropriate for all ages, but not for strollers or wheelchairs. Wear sturdy walking shoes, and dress in layers appropriate for the weather. Wear your silly sunhat and sunscreen. You might want insect spray. Hiking poles or a walking stick are recommended. Wildlands will bring hiking poles, too. Dogs on leash are welcome. There are no bathrooms available at the trail head. However, there are bathrooms at the Marina across the lake. DIRECTIONS: Take PA-412 south and take slight right onto PA-611. Go 1.3 miles on PA-611 and turn right onto S. Park Road. Go 2.2 miles on S. Park and turn right onto Fairview/Mink Road. Mink Road becomes a dirt road, so go slow. Go 0.8 miles to the parking lot. GPS: 40.470093, -75.190129.
