Wildlands Conservancy - Science of Birding- Owls at Camp Fowler
Let’s learn about the awesome world of owls. After discussing the general adaptations and natural history of owls we will focus on each of the 8 owl species found in Pennsylvania, covering the ecology of each species, and meeting some live education owls. Then we’ll head outside to look for some of the 5 species of owls that have been observed on this property. If conditions allow, participants will get to observe owl banding research being conducted. We hope to band Northern Saw-whet Owls which are migrating at this time. At the end of the program, participants may hang out for a bit and enjoy hot cocoa, a campfire, and s’mores. Restrooms available, no dogs permitted. This program will have both indoor and outdoor portions, so dress for the weather. Please register online. Registration ends on 11/10/23 Questions?
