Wildlands Conservancy: Get Out! for Wellness: John M. Mauser Nature Education Trail System
We won’t be walking all 7.5 miles of trail in this very scenic and varied area. Our walk is above the Delaware River to an overlook platform. Great views. These rock formations that loom over the Delaware are of the “Rickenbach Dolomite of the Beekmantown Group.” We’ll return through areas where 50 percent of the trees were logged. What a contrast! These trails are appropriate for all ages. Dogs on or off leash are welcome. Wear comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen. Bring walking stick/hiking poles. Trails near the Welcome Center are accessible to all. Bathrooms are available at the Welcome Center. This walk is part of the Get Out! for Wellness series. DIRECTIONS: From US Route 22, take PA Rt. 33 N to the Tatamy Exit and turn right onto Main Street/Tatamy Rd. Stay on Main St/Tatamy Rd for 0.9 miles when it becomes Uhler Road. Continue onto Uhler Road for 2.8 miles. Continue straight onto Front St. for 1.7 miles. Continue onto PA 611 N for just 1.0 mile. Go straight onto Martins Creek-Belvidere Highway for 5.5 miles. Turn right at the Lower Mount Bethel recreation area and the Jerry Brunetti Welcome Center. Park in the lower parking lot where we will meet. If you get to Belvidere NJ, you went too far. 40.826501, -75.087490 For registration questions: Brandon Swayser, bswayser@wildlandspa.org For program questions: Diane Motel, dmotel@wildlandspa.org
