Michael S, Greek is a lifelong resident of Carbon County and served over twenty years as Assistant District Attorney, prior to being elected District Attorney in 2020 by the voters of Carbon County.
He is a graduate of Panther Valley High School, Lansford, PA. and King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, PA. After graduating college with degrees in Criminal Justice and Government, he enlisted in the United States Army.
Following the completion of basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, Greek attended Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Benning, GA and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant. He attended the Armor Officer Basic Course in Fort Knox, KY and was assigned to D Co. 1/32 Armor 1st Calvary Division, Fort Hood, TX. Greek rose to the rank of Captain before being Honorably Discharged.
After obtaining a Juris Doctorate Degree from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, PA, he opened his own Law Office in Lansford, PA. Greek joined the District Attorney's Office in 1998 and has obtained convictions in thousands of cases involving manslaughter, aggravated assault, rape, burglary, arson, sexual assaults against children, drug delivery, and many other felony and misdemeanor crimes against violent criminals.
Michael S. Greek is committed to public safety, active in community outreach programs, and dedicated to fighting drugs through early intervention and the proper use of specialty courts and treatment programs.
