The Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency is proud to announce a partnership between the JTTA and Sam Miller Field to produce this year’s Fireworks display and related festivities, known as the “Jim Thorpe Hometown Festival”.

Sadly, earlier this year, the American Legion announced it was no longer producing the “Stay At Home Festival”, after years of generous contributions of time, energy and resources.

The JTTA and community officials then met to discuss the need to continue Fireworks in Jim Thorpe, agreeing this was an important piece of “the fiber of an American small town”.

Sam Miller Field then ‘stepped up to the plate’, offering to partner and host the event at Sam Miller Field.  The two organizations met with Jim Thorpe Mayor Michael Sofranko, and plans began to insure a fireworks display and festival would continue for the residents of Jim Thorpe!

The Festival has been organized as a community event, and proceeds benefiting Sam Miller Field.

The Festival is planned for Saturday, July 6th, at the field, and features food from participating local organizations, games, rides and live music!  The festivities begin a 12 Noon, continuing throughout the day, and culminating with the fireworks show at 10PM! The Festival also continues on Sunday, July 7th with food, rides, games and live music.
