Historic Church Tours at St. Mark's and St. John's Episcopal Church, 21 Race St., Jim Thorpe, PA 18229 during Jim Thorpe's Birthday Celebration Weekend: Sat. May 21st - 10 AM to 2 PM; Sun, May 22nd - 12 Noon to 3 PM. Visitors will enjoy seeing this unusual revival church which is on the National Historic Register. St. Mark's Church was dedicated Nov. 25th, 1869 and features beautiful stained glass windows, including two windows created by Louis C. Tiffany, the ornate baptismal font with gas candelabra and a reredos which is modeled after the one in St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. Visitors will also enjoy hearing the history of the Chapel and seeing murals painted in 1911 and can ride on the Otis birdcage elevator built in 1912 from funds donated as a gift of Mary Packer Cummings.
