SUMMARY:RESCHEDULED: Palmerton Area Chamber of Commerce Monthly Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE\, DUE TO WINTER WEATHER\, THIS LUNCHEON HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY\, FEBRUARY 20TH. \n\n\n\nJoin us on February 12th as we welcome William B. Cyr\, CEO\, Freshpet and Palmerton native to our monthly luncheon. \n\nBilly Cyr - Freshpet CEO Guest Speaker\n\n \n\n Each of us is aware of the need to provide adequate care for our pets - especially in the harsh winter weather. The reality of sub-zero temperatures makes us aware of the fact that our pets need to be given special consideration. Not the least important is the need for proper nutrition and our guest speaker this month will provide first-hand information on this subject. \n\nThe Chamber will meet for lunch at noon on Tuesday February 12th at Bert's Steakhouse at 416 Delaware Avenue at which time Palmerton native William ("Billy") Cyr will bring the "Freshpet Story" to the community. \n\n\n\nBilly joined Freshpet as CEO two years ago after 30 years experience with Proctor & Gamble and Sunny Delight Beverages. His strong background and success in the packaged foods industry made him a perfect fit for the leadership role of the innovative Freshpet company.\n\nMembers and guests are welcomed at our monthly luncheons. This month's presentation will certainly be of interest not only to pet owners but also to those who have followed the rapid business growth of the Freshpet company in the Lehigh Valley. The cost of lunch is a modest $12 per person. The meeting is one you won't want to miss. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWilliam B. Cyr\, CEO\, Freshpet\n\n \n\nBilly is the CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of Freshpet\, a fast-growing\, publicly traded pet food company based in Secaucus\, NJ that manufactures the first all-natural\, refrigerated pet food in North America and Western Europe. He joined Freshpet in September of 2016. Since he joined Freshpet\, the market cap of the company has more than tripled to $1.3 billion. \n\n \n\nPrior to Freshpet\, Billy spent more than 11 years leading the Sunny Delight Beverages Co.\, a $600 million multi-national beverage company\, as its President & CEO. \n\n \n\nPrior to joining Sunny Delight\, Billy spent 19 years at Procter & Gamble where he was a Vice President and General Manager of North American Juice and Global Nutritional Beverages. \n\n \n\nBilly is involved in his industry\, serving on the Board and Executive Committee of the Grocery Manufacturers Association and previously served on the Board and Executive Committee of the American Beverage Association for many years. He also served on the Boards of the Dan Beard Council Boy Scouts of America and the Seven Hills School in Cincinnati. \n\n \n\nHe has earned several honors\, including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year\, the Association for Corporate Growth's Deal Maker of the Year\, and Distinguished Eagle Scout\, Good Scout Award and the Silver Beaver Award from the Dan Beard Council Boy Scouts of America. \n\n \n\nHe is a graduate of Princeton University where he received a degree in History and East Asian Studies and is a native of Palmerton\, PA. \n\n \n\nBilly and his wife Linda have four children and have had Samoyed dogs since they married 31 years ago including their latest\, Appa.
