Founded in 2000\, postponed in 2020/2021\, we are now celebrating the 21st anniversary of the program in 2022. Including this year\, 111 Community Heroes been awarded this honor throughout the years!\n\n \n\nThe selection criteria are individuals that are/have been active in non-profit/community organizations that benefit or improve the quality of life in Carbon County and/or the Tamaqua area on a volunteer basis\, have devoted a substantial amount of their personal time to those activities and have made a significant impact and contribution to their community.\n\n \n\nMembers of the media are invited to meet the 4 newest MCT Community Heroes and learn about their contributions deserving of public recognition during our annual "MCT Community Appreciation Day" celebration on Friday\, May 27\, 2022.\n\n \n\nMedia scheduling:          Friday\, May 27\, 2022 between 11am - 12:30pm\n\nWhere:                                 Main Office: 1111 North Street\, Jim Thorpe\, PA 18229\n\nRSVP: Please contact Marty McGuire (mmcguire@mct.bank / 570-325-0508) to schedule a time slot to allow for interviews by multiple media outlets.\n\n \n\nAdditionally\, up to 2 members of each media organization are also invited to attend the 2022 MCT Community Heroes Banquet at no cost\, to be held on Wednesday\, June 15\, 2022 at 6pm at the Lehighton Orioles Community Center (475 Orioles Dr Suite E\, Lehighton\, PA 18235). Each of the 4 Community Heroes are scheduled to be in attendance and are invited to share their story for approximate 15 minutes each\, following dinner. Cash Bar starts at 6pm\, Dinner served at 6:30pm.
