DESCRIPTION:Historic Church Tours at St. Mark's and St. John's Episcopal Church\, 21 Race St.\, Jim Thorpe\, PA 18229\, church office: 570-325-2241.  Summer tours are scheduled on Wednesdays through Sundays and Monday\, Labor Day Holiday from Wednesday\, June 1st\, through Monday\, September 5th\, 2016\; Exclusion Date:  No tours will be held on Saturday\, July 2nd\, 2016. Visitors will enjoy seeing this unusual revival church which is on the National Historic Register.  St. Mark's Church was dedicated Nov. 25th\, 1869 and features beautiful stained glass windows\, including two windows created by Louis C. Tiffany\, the ornate baptismal font with gas candelabra and a reredos which is modeled after the one in St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.  Visitors will also enjoy hearing the history of the Chapel and seeing murals painted in 1911 and ride on the Otis birdcage elevator built in 1912 from funds donated as a gift of Mary Packer Cummings.
