DESCRIPTION:The Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corp. is thrilled to announce the ribbon cutting ceremony for the expansion of Family Promise of Carbon County will be held at its new Nesquehoning location 140 W. Mill St.\, 4 to 6 p.m.\, Monday\, August 21.\n\n"It's an exciting time for Family Promise of Carbon County as well as the residents who will benefit from our shelter\," said Family Promise Director Cathy Lamm. "I am humbled by the continued generosity of the community and look forward to serving the community for many years to come."\n\nFamily Promise of Carbon County\, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization has been making a profound impact on the lives of families facing homelessness across the country since its inception in 2011.\n\n\n\nThe new location was officially opened in February 2022\, marking a significant milestone for the non-profit. With the support of a $65\,000 grant from The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation in 2020\, Family Promise of Carbon County embarked on a transformative project to purchase and renovate the vacant West Mill Street building.
