DESCRIPTION:Representative Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) and Senator John Yudichak (D-Luzerne/Carbon) invite area seniors to their Senior Expo on Thursday\, Sept. 8\, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall\, located at 101 East 10th St. in Jim Thorpe.\n\n \n\nThe Senior Citizens Expo will feature flu shots and more than 50 vendors who will provide useful information about their programs and services. In addition\, a prescription drug drop-off box will be available for seniors to dispose of their unwanted or expired medications. A free lunch will also be served.\n\n \n\n"This is a great event and I hope many local seniors come out to learn about many of the services available to them\," said Heffley.\n\n \n\n"Our annual Carbon County Senior Expo allows our seniors convenient access to valuable information from a wide variety of community groups in addition to our local\, state and federal agencies\," added Yudichak.\n\n \n\nThe legislators will also be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to a local food bank and ask everyone who attends to consider bringing a donation.\n\n \n\nFor more information\, contact Heffley's office at 610-377-6363 or Yudichak's office at 570-325-3274.
