SUMMARY:2016 Battlefront Philippines at Skirmish
DESCRIPTION:A SKIRMISH AND BO SHOW PRODUCTION\n\nSCENARIO: It has been several months since tensions rose with Japan and the possibility of war had become inevitable. General Douglas MacArthur\, having been recalled from retirement and placed in command of the US Army Forces in the Far East (USAFFE)\, has been personally overseeing the reorganization of US defenses in the Philippines. Should war occur\, this island chain will be an important outpost for US victory.\n\nKnowing full well that the Philippines are of strategic importance to their victory in the Pacific\, Japan has begun mobilizing the 14th Army under Lt. General Masaharu Homma to prepare an invasion force to take the Philippines. Seeing that the invasion must be successful\, the Japanese Third Fleet has been assigned additional cruisers\, destroyers\, and aircraft carriers as well as a full complement of 541 aircraft to support General Homma's landing.\n\n\n\nTwo weeks after the attack on Pearl Harbor and the US declaration of war against Japan\, the 14th Army has begun their invasion\, capturing the islands of Batan and Camiguin. In response to Japanese strikes\, the bulk of the US Asiatic Fleet has been withdrawn from Philippine waters leaving only several submarines in the area.\n\n\n\nIn the morning hours of December 22\, 1941 the Japanese invasion of the Philippine main island of Luzon begins. Can General MacArthur\, USAFFE\, and the Philippine Army turn back the tide of a massive Japanese assault or will General Homma raise the Rising Sun over Manilla and capture a critical resource in the Pacific?\n\n\n\nCOMMAND STAFF:\n\nAmerican General: Jim O'Connor from Team Valor\n\nJapanese General: Pete Walker from Team Custard
