The Raising the House 5K run/walk was the first event created in memory of Blaine. The reason for its creation was twofold: Honoring his passion for fitness and excitement in taking another step forward. Carrying on the memory of the educator that had such a profound effect on the several hundreds of students that he touched over his many years of teaching. The funds for this event support the mission of the Raising the House organization, to provide financial assistance to students and families within the Palmerton Area School District while honoring the memory of Blaine House.
Raising the House adopts one of over 150 trees that are decorated and displayed around the Palmerton Borough Park. As a community non-profit, we love having this opportunity to take part in such a cherished holiday tradition.
Qualifications: To qualify for possible assistance from Raising the House, the family in need MUST have a registered student in the Palmerton Area School District. The family MUST be facing a serious hardship (i.e. house fire, major medical condition, etc.). Assistance will NOT be given for rent, mortgage, or tax payments.
